Calculate how many bricks you need for a wall based on dimensions, brick size, mortar joint thickness, openings, and waste margin.

Enable to subtract doors and windows from the wall area

How to Calculate

  • 4Enter the mortar joint thickness (default: 10 mm or ~0.4 inches)

  • 6Optionally enable 'Subtract Openings' to subtract doors and windows
  • 7If subtracting openings, enter the number and dimensions of doors and windows
  • 8Select the unit system: Meters or Feet
  • 9Optionally enable waste margin and set the percentage (typically 10%)
  • 10Click the Calculate button
  • 11View the net wall area and bricks per square meter/foot
  • 12See the total bricks needed (rounded up)
  • 13Check the waste-adjusted total if waste margin is enabled
